How your project data is handled
YesScope is built to plan a project without keeping it. This page explains what happens to the information you enter.
The short version
- There are no accounts, no saved projects, no cookies and no analytics.
- Plans and form inputs are shown only in your browser tab and disappear from it when you refresh or close it. While you work on a plan, its active planning context is held temporarily in ephemeral server-side storage and expires automatically.
- When you generate a plan, the project name and description are sent to OpenAI to read the scope, with response storage turned off. Your team, hourly rates, dates and budget are not.
- While a plan is being generated, your inputs are held in temporary storage. They are deleted when planning finishes, and the plan is deleted once your browser confirms it received it. Anything left behind expires and is removed automatically an hour after planning started.
- Exports never leave your browser. Opening a sample project sends only which sample it is and today’s date.
When you generate a plan
Your inputs are sent over HTTPS to the planning service that runs this site. It sends OpenAI the project name, the description and whether the deadline is for the launch or for all work. Team members, their skills, daily hours and hourly rates, your dates and your budget are not sent to OpenAI; the service uses them only to plan the work and calculate the schedule it returns to you.
The request asks OpenAI not to store the response. OpenAI still processes the content under its API data policies. Before pasting a scope, remove client names or confidential details you don’t want to share.
Large plans can take a few minutes, so planning runs in the background. While it runs, your inputs and the planning progress are kept in temporary, ephemeral server-side storage that expires automatically, under a random, unguessable ID that only your browser tab and the planning service use. The inputs are deleted as soon as planning finishes. The finished plan, or the error, is kept until your browser confirms it received it, so a dropped connection does not lose a plan, and is then deleted. If the tab is closed before that, the leftover record expires and is removed automatically an hour after planning started.
Changes you make to a plan afterwards — dates, team, hours, rates, a What if or the lower-cost plan — are calculated by the planning service from the reading of the brief it already has, without another request to OpenAI. For that, the plan’s active planning context (your inputs, the reading of the brief and the plan) is held temporarily in ephemeral server-side storage under a random, unguessable ID that only your browser tab holds. It expires automatically an hour after it was last used, and never later than 12 hours after the plan was created. It is not linked to you and is not used for anything else.
Nothing is kept beyond that: there is no project history, and the logs record only timings, counts and error types, never project content, names or AI output.
Sample projects and exports
Sample projects are calculated by the planning service: your browser sends only which sample you opened and today’s date, and the sample’s plan is held as an active planning context like any other. Copying a plan or downloading Markdown and CSV files happens locally, from the plan already in your tab.
Hosting
The site runs on a virtual private server hosted by IONOS, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to operate its network. The site’s own server uses IP addresses only briefly, to deliver pages and to apply rate limits to plan requests; it does not store or log them.
